ensure the correctness and reliability of gas utility measurements. MTL is accredited by the Polish Centre for Accreditation for compliance with the requirements of PN-EN 17025 and PN/IEC 17065 as:

• calibration laboratory – certificate No. AP 017;
• testing laboratory – certificate No. AB 278;
• product certification body – certificate No. AC 196.

The scope of the granted accreditation includes measurements and tests necessary for billing processes and estimation of uncertainty of pressure reduction stations and metering devices affecting CO2 emission reduction.

Works performed by the Measurement and Testing Laboratory:

• testing and/or calibration of measuring instruments used in the measurement of gaseous fuels, for compliance with applicable regulations (ensuring metrological consistency of measuring instruments used in the gas industry),
• testing of new metering devices for their suitability for gas billing measurements and for compliance with current regulations,
• analysing physical and chemical properties of gaseous fuels,
• metrological supervision of measurement systems of gas stations as well as measurement systems and nodes,
• estimating the uncertainty of measurement systems in installations burning natural gas.

The Measurement and Testing Laboratory also performs calibration of measuring instruments for customers outside the gas industry (energy, chemical, pharmaceutical industry, electrical measurements).
