International cooperation
As the largest Gas Distribution System Operator in Poland, Polska Spółka Gazownictwa (PSG) wishes to establish cooperation with foreign entities.
We are particularly interested in building relationships with Gas Distribution System Operators (DSOs) in order to exchange knowledge and experience in operator functions as well as the new challenges faced by DSOs, such as injecting biomethane, synthetic gas, or hydrogen into the gas network.
We see the benefits that may come from exchanging knowledge among operators, for example, in the areas of smart metering, methane reduction, LNG emissions, the development and operation of gas infrastructure, technologies used to detect failures and gas network leaks, research and development activities, obtaining EU funds, balancing the market, or cooperating with gas suppliers.
We actively analyze the introduction of new technologies, thanks to which PSG has a significant share in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and transitioning to a low-carbon economy with the optimal use of the available resources.
Apart from building relationships with foreign partners, PSG is involved in issuing opinions on draft EU legislation and in the work of transnational groups on the technical aspects of the gas transport industry.
Since November 2020, Polska Spółka Gazownictwa Sp. z o.o. has been a Member of the Technical Association of the European Natural Gas Industry, MARCOGAZ, based in Brussels
https://www.marcogaz.org/. MARCOGAZ brings together the leading gas distribution and transmission system operators and the national associations of the gas industry in Europe.
In November 2021 project Ready4H2 has been launched. Polska Spółka Gazownictwa sp. z o.o. became a participant in the project. Ready4H2 project focuses on analyzing the possibility of transporting 100% of H2 through distribution networks and determining the role of DSOs in the hydrogen economy. The Ready4H2 project consists of 90 European gas distribution companies from 17 countries and various international organisations. More information about the project is available at the website
