We are particularly interested in building relationships with Gas Distribution System Operators (DSOs) in order to exchange knowledge and experience in operator functions as well as the new challenges faced by DSOs, such as injecting biomethane, synthetic gas, or hydrogen into the gas network.
We see the benefits that may come from exchanging knowledge among operators, for example, in the areas of decabonisation of the gas system, smart metering, methane reduction, LNG, the development and operation of gas infrastructure, technologies used to detect failures and gas network leaks, research and development activities, obtaining EU funds or balancing the market.
By cooperating at the international level, we exchange experience and knowledge on decarbonisation of the gas system, which includes the use and integration of renewable and low-carbon gases into gas infrastructure. We analyse the directions, strategies and Eu regulations that define the framework for the energy transition.
We actively analyze the introduction of new technologies, thanks to which PSG has a significant share in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and transitioning to a low-carbon economy with the optimal use of the available resources.
Apart from building relationships with foreign partners, PSG is involved in issuing opinions on draft EU legislation and in the work of transnational groups on the technical aspects of the gas transport industry.
Since November 2020, Polska Spółka Gazownictwa Sp. z o.o. has been a Member of the Technical Association of the European Natural Gas Industry, MARCOGAZ, based in Brussels. MARCOGAZ brings together the leading gas distribution and transmission system operators and the national associations of the gas industry in Europe.
Since 2023, PSG has delegated its representatives to work within the International Gas Union (IGU). IGU is the largest industry organization covering 90% of the global gas market. Its activities cover the entire gas market value chain.
In April 2025, Polska Spółka Gazownictwa became a member of the Gas Distributors for Sustainability (GD4S) association, which brings together European Gas Distribution System Operators. The entities belonging to the association, including PSG, represent over 60 million customers in Europe, which is 49% of the European market. The association actively works to promote the role of natural gas and renewable gases, such as biomethane and hydrogen, in the process of achieving EU climate goals. GD4S actively participates in dialogue with European institutions, shaping energy policy and supporting actions for the decarbonization of gas systems.
