PSG is a modern company with rich traditions, drawing on the experience of over 180 years of Polish gas industry history. It is one of the largest operators of a gas distribution system in Europe.

Polska Spółka Gazownictwa is the operator of the gas distribution system in Poland. The company’s main task is to reliably and safely transport fuel gases through the distribution network throughout the country, directly to end-users and the networks of other, local operators. The company provides transport services of fuel gas based on contracts with partner businesses which trade in fuel gas.

PSG takes care of network traffic management, expansion, maintenance and repairs of networks and devices, and measurement of the quality and quantity of the gas which is transported.

Board of Directors

Mr Adam Szurlej is a graduate of the Faculty of Fuels and Energy at the Stanisław Staszic Academy of Mining and Metallurgy in Kraków. He holds a postdoctoral degree.

From January 2009 to July 2012, he was an employee of the Department of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Economy, employed as chief specialist and then as head of the Natural Gas Division.

He was responsible for the implementation of energy policy tasks including the supervision of the security of supply of gaseous fuels and participated in the work on changing the regulatory environment of the domestic gas market. Mr Adam Szurlej served as a member of the Supervisory Board of PGNiG Technologie S.A.

He is currently a research and teaching employee of the Gas Engineering Department of the Faculty of Drilling, Oil and Gas at AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, employed as a professor at the university. He holds the position of Vice-Dean of the Faculty for Part-time Studies and is the head of postgraduate studies in hydrogen and biomethane. He is also a member of the Council of the Scientific Discipline of Environmental Engineering, Mining and Energy and the College of the Faculty of Drilling, Oil and Gas.

He works on issues of energy resource management, with a particular focus on natural gas. His scientific interests also include issues of energy security, energy transition and the use of renewable gases.

He was involved in the implementation of research and development projects funded by the National Centre for Research and Development concerning, among others, hydrogen storage for distributed energy systems and the use of new materials in the construction of pipes for transporting natural gas and liquid hydrocarbons, as well as an international project concerning a home refuelling station for compressed natural gas.

He has authored or co-authored more than 250 publications, mainly on the natural gas sector, and is the supervisor of 2 doctoral theses. In addition, he is an expert at the Ignacy Łukasiewicz Institute of Energy Policy, a member of the Association for the Energy Economy of Poland and the SITPNIG club at WWNIG AGH.

Mr Adam Szurlej, Member of the Supervisory Board at PSG sp. z o.o., declares that his relatives are not employed and do not perform work under any other legal relationship for PSG sp. z o.o. or companies from ORLEN Group.

Mr Adam Szurlej is the Chairman of the Board of the Drilling-Nafta-Gas, Science and Traditions Foundation and a Member of the Board of the Sustainable Energy Institute Foundation.

Graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw (summa cum laudae), IESE Business School University of Navarra - Advanced Management Program and Postgraduate Studies in Law and Capital Market Economics at the Warsaw School of Economics. Registered Legal Adviser on the list kept by the Regional Chamber of Legal Advisers in Warsaw. She pursues her professional activity as an individual entrepreneur.

She began her career at the Capital Group of the Mint of Poland, where she performed corporate governance tasks for subsidiaries and provided corporate services to the Mint of Poland's governing bodies and its subsidiaries. From 2006 to 2007 she was a legal specialist and from 2007 to 2010 she was Head of the Legal Department. From 2010 to 2018, she was Director of the Legal Department at Mennica Polska S.A. From 2016 to 2022, she managed legal services for the Netia S.A. Group.

From March 2008 to April 2009 and again from December 2009 to April 2013, she served as Secretary of the Supervisory Board of Centrum Nowoczesnych Technologii S.A. in Sosnowiec (formerly Energopol Południe S.A.). She has served as Secretary since March 2008 and has served as Chairperson of the Supervisory Board of NEWAG S.A. since June 2018. , she has served as Chairperson of the Supervisory Board of NEWAG S.A. From 2013 to 2020, she was a Member of the Supervisory Board at Fundusz Inwestycji Polskich Towarzystwo Funduszy Inwestycyjnych S.A., which is based in Warsaw.

From 2007 to 2022, she served as Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of CD Projekt S.A.; additionally, from 2017 to 2022, she was a Member of the Audit Committee of the Supervisory Board of CD Projekt S.A. From 2015 to 2022, she served as Chairperson of the Supervisory Board and Member of the Audit Committee of SOHO Development S.A.

He has many years of experience in the corporate governance of companies with a State Treasury shareholding. He is currently employed in the Department of Fuel and Energy Companies at the Ministry of State Assets, where he supervises all economic and legal issues relating to State Treasury companies' activities in the energy sector. He was previously associated with the Ministry of the Environment, the Ministry of the State Treasury and the Ministry of Energy, where he was also responsible for the corporate governance of companies with State Treasury shareholding.

He gained his extensive experience in supervisory bodies by serving as a Member of the Supervisory Board at PGE EJ sp. z o.o., Gas Storage Poland sp. z o.o., and ENEA S.A., where he also served as a Member of the Management Board for Corporate Affairs. He currently serves as a Member of the Supervisory Board at PGE Baltica sp. z o.o., which is registered in Warsaw.
