Member of the Management Board for Operations of PSG at the 7th DISE Energy Congress
On Wednesday, 29 September, the 7th DISE 2021 Energy Congress began in Wrocław. On the first day of the conference, Jakub Kowalski, member of the Management Board of Polska Spółka Gazownictwa, took part in the panel “Gas fuels in the energy transition process”.
The DISE Energy Congress is an international energy industry event which summarises the achievements of the Polish energy sector over the past year and discusses and analyses the most important challenges facing the industry.
In a discussion moderated by Wojciech Jakóbik, editor-in-chief of the BiznesAlert.pl portal, apart from Jakub Kowalski, Member of the PSG Management Board, the following participants were present: Vice-President of the Management Board of PGNiG Robert Perkowski, Vice-President of the Management Board of GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. Artur Zawartko, Vice-President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A. Filip Grzegorczyk, Member of the Management Board of Ciech S.A Mirosław Skowron and President of the Management Board of Towarowa Giełda Energii S.A Piotr Zawistowski.
The panel discussed issues related to the launch of the great energy transition, the future of carbon-free gases and the implementation of the climate neutrality objective.
– The scale of challenges facing Polska Spółka Gazownictwa is very large. On the one hand, this is due to the increasing demand for gas. Analyses show that demand for this raw material will increase by 50% within a decade. On the other hand, one has to remember that in some places the capacity of our network is almost exhausted, and the investment process at the interface with Gaz-System lasts about 3 years. Therefore, we are already indicating readiness to connect some of the professional entities as late as 2025, said PSG Member of the Management Board for operations Jakub Kowalski.
