Gasification of the municipality of Banie
On Tuesday, December 7, a press briefing was held to announce the start of gas distribution to new customers in the municipality of Banie. This is the fifth municipality in the territory of the Szczecin Gasworks Branch which has gained access to the gas network under the Program for Accelerated Investment in Poland's Gas Network.
- Communal Poland and district Poland were forgotten for many years. And yet all Poles work and pay taxes. Therefore, they should have equal access to energy sources, for example. We have to make up for some undoubted backwardness in this area, therefore I thank Polska Spółka Gazownictwa – as the national operator – for also pursuing the policy of sustainable development, i.e. reaching small towns with the blue fuel – said Zbigniew Bogucki, the Governor of the Western Pomeranian Province.
– Polska Spółka Gazownictwa, as part of the implementation of the "Program for accelerated investment in Poland's gas network in the years 2018-2022", is constantly implementing new investments, expanding the natural gas distribution network throughout Poland. In recent years, we have allocated 10 million PLN for such activities in the Gryfino district. The completed investment will not only improve the competitiveness of local businesses, but will also have a positive impact on air quality and the health of residents – commented Robert Więckowski, President of Polska Spółka Gazownictwa.
The process of gasification of the municipality of Banie started in 2018. It was implemented in two phases. As part of the first project, Polska Spółka Gazownictwa constructed a 15 km medium-pressure gas pipeline from Pyrzyce to Parnica. The second stage involves the construction of over 12 km of gas pipelines in the municipality of Banie.
