Sońsk municipality with access to gas

On Monday, during a press briefing, Polska Spółka Gazownictwa officially completed the first stage of connecting the Sońsk municipality to the gas grid. The event was attended by Emilia Banaszczyk, Director of the Warsaw Gasworks Branch, which was responsible for the execution of the investment. The cost of the investment was nearly PLN 1.5 million.
For many years, Polska Spółka Gazownictwa, one of Europe's largest Distribution System Operators, has been planning new investments so as to develop the gas network evenly throughout the country. With the completion of the investment in northern Mazovia, the residents of Bieńki-Karkuty, Gołotczyzna and Sońsk have gained access to gas.

“Connecting each community to the gas grid is a huge challenge involving not only the construction but also public consultation and design of the distribution network beforehand. Today, we can proudly announce that we have completed the first part of the investment. We are especially proud that we have finalised it over a year ahead of our initial plans,” said Emilia Banaszczyk, Director of the Warsaw Gasworks Branch.

As part of the investment, Polska Spółka Gazownictwa built over 11 km of the distribution network and at least 131 properties gained direct access to the gas network. In the first stage, a municipality office, a health centre, a primary school, a kindergarten and a community centre were connected to the gas network. Further gas connections are planned for residential and business customers in 2023 based on the applications submitted.
