PSG will replace almost 1.5 million gas meters with smart ones – starting in August

Polska Spółka Gazownictwa enters the next phase of the nationwide eGazomierz (eGasMeter) project, whose aim is to replace more than 1.38 million traditional gas meters with modern, smart measuring devices with the function of remote data reading. The project will include customers from the 3rd tariff group and will be entirely free of charge for them. The replacements will begin in August 2025, and the project will run until December 2026.

Smart gas meters make it possible to take a remote reading of gas consumption, eliminating the need for a visit from a meter reader. Thanks to advanced data transmission, in the future, customers will be able to monitor fuel consumption on an ongoing basis and pay only for the gas actually used and not for the predicted use. It will make accounts more transparent, make detecting irregularities faster, and increase safety.

Everything worth knowing – in one place

In order to ensure full transparency of activities and easier access to information, PSG launched a website devoted to the project. There you will find detailed information about the programme, answers to the most frequently asked questions (FAQ), and data important for gas consumers.

For gas sellers, we have prepared a separate subpage in the “For the supplier” section. Besides an FAQ, it includes informational materials which can be used in communications with customers.

Free replacement, no formalities

Both the device and its installation will be free for the customers. Thanks to that, customers can be sure that they are dealing with an accredited representative of the company and not with a person impersonating a gas fitter. Customers will be informed about a planned replacement in advance. It is worth checking, in conversation with the PSG Contact Centre at 22 444 33 33, if the local gasworks have our current phone number.

Technology and support from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan

The smart gas meters will be supplied by recognised companies: Apator Metrix S.A., Elektrometal S.A., and Zakład Wytwórczy Urządzeń Gazowniczych INTERGAZ Sp. z o.o. The project is co-financed from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan funds, which increases its significance for Poland’s digitisation and energy transition.

Modernness that serves customers

The eGazomierz project is consistent with PSG’s strategy aimed at implementing modern and pro-consumer technological solutions. The company aims to ensure the highest standards of service, safety, and comfort, with the use of innovative technologies and while respecting the natural environment.
