PSG is developing modern gas infrastructure in northern Poland

On 27 March 2026, Polska Spółka Gazownictwa concluded a contract for the construction works as part of the project ‘Construction of the Dworzysko–Chojnice gas pipeline’ no. FENX.02.03‑IW.02‑0022/25, worth over PLN 176 million. The project will be carried out by ZRUG Sp. z o.o. from Poznań. The completion of the construction and installation works, as well as the handover of the gas pipeline for operation are scheduled for the third quarter of 2028.

The investment will be co-financed by EU funds under the European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate and Environment 2021-2027 programme, measure FENX.02.03 Energy Infrastructure, thanks to the contract concluded with the Oil and Gas Institute – National Research Institute.

The total cost of the project is PLN 247.6 million, of which PLN 152.4 million is co-financed by the European funds. The investment will have a significant impact on the development of the gas market in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian and Pomeranian regions, and will increase natural gas distribution capacity at the branches in Gdańsk, Koszalin and Bydgoszcz. The aim is to replace the DN 150, 5.5 MPa high-pressure gas pipeline, which has been in operation since the 1980s, with the modern infrastructure of DN 300 MOP 6.3 MPa gas pipeline approximately 70 km long, a piston delivering and receiving station, a fibre-optic network and seven shut-off and relief valve assemblies, which will enable the distribution of natural gas to over 20,000 consumers located along the route of the investment.

The project is a part of a long-term strategy for the development of modern and safe gas infrastructure in Poland and supports the country’s energy transition. This investment will significantly improve the quality and reliability of gas supplies to residents and businesses in the region.
