PSG has launched a gas facility in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski

Polska Spółka Gazownictwa has officially returned to Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski. On Monday, September 14, the opening ceremony of the facility took place at Sandomierska Street. It was reactivated after seven years.
The gas facility in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski is another PSG facility reactivated after liquidation. The previous Gas Distribution Region was closed down in 2013.

“Opening the gas facility in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski is part of the change in the organizational structure of Polska Spółka Gazownictwa, which was launched in 2016. This reform is strongly correlated with the implementation of the Strategy for Responsible Development announced by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. As shown by the example of Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski, we fulfill our promises and consistently restore the facilities to be as close to our clients as possible,” said Jarosław Wróbel, chairman of the PSG Supervisory Board, during the Monday press conference.

I am positive that in the coming years the number of gas connections, among both individual and industrial customers in the Świętokrzyskie Province, will increase significantly.

The new gas facility will operate a medium-pressure gas network of approx. 596 km and service approx. 9,500 connections and 22,000 gas consumers. Its area of operation will cover the entirety of Ostrowiec County, including the gasified municipalities of Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski, Ćmielów, Kunów, Bodzechów, Waśniów, and the municipality of Bałtów, which is not supplied with gas.

“For several years now, Polska Spółka Gazownictwa has been following a strategy based primarily on the development of the distribution system, so that as many customers as possible can connect to the gas network. One of the most important elements is the restoration of the network of facilities that were previously closed down in the country. The gas facility returned to Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski to make it easier for customers to reach us, so that the fuel gas can reach a larger number of inhabitants of Świętokrzyskie Province,” said Ireneusz Krupa, president of the Management Board of Polska Spółka Gazownictwa.

Creating a new facility will increase the safety of network operation and facilitate gas supply in new municipalities. For the last seven years, the inhabitants of Ostrowiec County had to do their business in Starachowice. The gas emergency service also came from there in the event of failures.

Approximately 60 percent of Świętokrzyskie Province is supplied with gas.
