Polska Spółka Gazownictwa took part in the Biomethane Connect Europe conference held on 5-6 March this year in Madrid. This is the second edition of conference organised by GD4S (Gas Distributors for Sustainability), the association representing Europe’s largest gas distribution system operators. PSG is the member of GD4S since April last year.

This year’s meeting took place in Madrid and was hosted by Nedgia – the Spanish operator of gas distribution system. The event gathered industry representatives from across Europe, regulators and operators, creating a forum for discussion on the opportunities and challenges associated with the rapidly growing biomethane market.

Arkadiusz Kazana, together with representatives of the management boards of other Distribution Network Operators, also took part in a meeting with Mechthild Wörsdörfer, Deputy Director-General at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy (DG ENER). During the meeting, the member of PSG Management Board emphasized that security of supply and industrial competitiveness are now fundamental and inextricably linked issues. He also pointed out that energy infrastructure planning in Europe should take both these aspects into account, so that the transition is not only green, but also resilient, affordable and strategically secure.
