PSG allocated PLN 26 million for the gasification of Orawa and the surrounding areas
The Orawa region and surrounding localities until that time had not been gasified, so the LNG stations in Jabłonka and Lipnica Wielka have made it possible for gas to reach not only individual consumers but also local government buildings, schools, fire stations, and health centres. The ability to switch to gas fuel will translate into lower emissions and reduced smog, the levels of which are very high in the region.
Marian Żołyniak, a member of PSG's Technical Board, stressed the advantages of island-type gasification. He noted the cost-effectiveness and speed of the project, as well as the safety of customers. Due to the fact that 1 m3 of LNG is 621 m3 of natural gas, PSG can gasify places where it was not economically feasible until now. During the meeting, he also referred to the challenges in handling biomethane and hydrogen, stressing that PSG was ready to meet them.
The next phases of the investment project will be implemented in 2024, and will include such villages as Chochołów, Ciche – Miętustwo, Dział, Koniówka, Piekielnik, Podczerwone, Ratułów, Wróblówka and Załuczne.
