President of PSG at the Economic Forum in Karpacz

On Wednesday, September 9, during the Economic Forum in Karpacz, the president of the Management Board of Polska Spółka Gazownictwa, Ireneusz Krupa, took part in a discussion panel on EU energy policy in the context of the European gas infrastructure.
The debate was also attended by the President of PGNiG, Jerzy Kwieciński; the President of Gaz-System, Tomasz Stępień; the President of Unimot, Adam Sikorski; the Vice President of PERN, Mateusz Wodejko; and the President of the Lower Silesian Institute of Energy Studies, Remigiusz Nowakowski.

During the discussion, President Ireneusz Krupa referred to issues related to the energy transformation in local heating, among others. “The vast majority of local heating plants—heat sources of up to 50 MW—are now coal-fired; there is little gas there. We have no choice but to replace this coal with gas, perhaps with the addition of biomass,” said the president.

The Economic Forum is a large international event attended by representatives of government and business. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, for the first time in its 30-year history, the Economic Forum was not held in Krynica-Zdrój, Małopolska, but in Karpacz, Lower Silesia. This was the first time a PSG representative took part in this event.
