PowerConnect 2025: PSG presented the Absorption Map
- From the perspective of PSG, which serves more than 7 million customers nationwide, I look at the energy transition through the lens of diversification, which is essential. To speed up the process, we have launched an absorption map on our website. It is a tool that, among other things, makes it possible to determine where a biomethane plant can be connected almost immediately, the PSG president explained during the discussion.
Over the past five years, Polska Spółka Gazownictwa has received 924 requests to determine the conditions for connection to the gas network and information on the possibility of connecting a biomethane plant. In response to this emerging market, Polska Spółka Gazownictwa has created an absorption map. This simple and intuitive tool will make it easier for investors to decide where to locate a biomethane plant. The map allows a preliminary identification of areas (communes) with a high absorption capacity and those where the investment may entail higher connection costs due to the need to develop the necessary infrastructure.
