Topics discussed during the panel included the growing role of gas as a transition fuel, geopolitical challenges and the energy transition. Invited experts and energy market leaders discussed the most significant challenges currently facing gas companies. These include ensuring continuity of supply and diversifying sources, as well as investing in the development of gas infrastructure. Wojciech Kowalski, a member of the management board at Polska Spółka Gazownictwa, spoke about building a resilient and modern gas distribution system during the energy transition.

'Security has many dimensions,' he said. 'At Polska Spółka Gazownictwa, this involves several thousand people managing the 745 entry points to the Gaz-System safely and continuously. It also means managing gas pipelines with a total length of over 210,000 km and operating over 10,000 stations. We work closely with our customers and consumers, who have over 7 million gas meters. There is also security in the fact that we have planned development investments. Through these investments, we are implementing Orlen's strategy', he stressed.
