Debate with the participation of the PSG Chairman at the XI Banking Congress

The XI Corporate and Investment Banking Congress was held at the headquarters of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. During numerous debates, chairmen and members of the boards, experts and representatives of industry organisations were discussing, among other things, Poland’s investment attractiveness in the conditions of deglobalisation. During the debate concluding the Congress, dr Szymon Paweł Moś emphasised the significance of a pragmatic approach of the government to energy transition.

Chairmen of the boards of key companies from the energy, construction, and IT industries were debating during the “Services of corporate banking through the eyes of entrepreneurs and heads of corporations” panel. The debate was moderated by Jan Krzysztof Bielecki, former Prime Minister of Poland, Chairman of the Program Council of the European Financial Congress. The discussion focused on the issues related to financing investments and the cooperation of entrepreneurs with financing institutions.

“Only two years ago, from the investment perspective for the gas sector in our country, the lack of a pragmatic and unambiguous perspective resulting from the European documents and regulations was an important problem,” said Dr Szymon Paweł Moś, Chairman of the Management Board of Polska Spółka Gazownictwa. “Now, Poland is doing a lot to change that. As the Chairman of the Management Board of Polska Spółka Gazownictwa, I am observing this from the perspective of everyday business, and I think that this voice should be supported and strengthened.”

The Chairman of the Management Board of Polska Spółka Gazownictwa also emphasised the role of natural gas in the energy mix and in energy transition.

“During the conference organised in September of this year by PSG, Wojciech Wrochna, Government Plenipotentiary for Strategic Energy Infrastructure, stressed that unrealistic aims are demotivating. In Polska Spółka Gazownictwa, we think that energy transition should be looked at pragmatically. We see natural gas as a stabilising, not a transitory fuel. It is indispensable for the stabilising of systems based on renewable energy sources,” said Dr Szymon Paweł Moś, Chairman of the Management Board of Polska Spółka Gazownictwa.

The Corporate and Investment Banking Congress is an initiative of the European Financial Congress, and it is focused on the debate on the financing and supporting of enterprises by financial and development institutions. The expectations of entrepreneurs and investors towards the financial market are the key subject of discussion.
